Two links this week on getting back to the wild.
It's summer, the weather is good, we've been spending plenty of time outside (hopefully), and so this week a couple of blogs on the power of the wild.
Have you heard of 'Rewilding'? The concept is pioneered by Daniel Vitalis is fascinating and well worth checking out. It essentially is going back to our roots and getting in touch with our inner 'wild' side, although he explains it a lot better than I do here. I'm quite taken with Daniel Vitalis, he's a particularly good talker on his podcast, and he reckons that by taking inspiration from our ancestors we can become healthier, more self-sufficient, more confident and more in control. I'm down for that.
And since it's summer, and we really should be making the most of it, a reminder on my blog last summer about short walks.
Researchers found short nature walks increase our sense of well-being. Those who walked along a tree-lined green route felt more positive, more relaxed and more fascinated with life than those who walked in a tunnel. (Which, let’s face it, we probably could have predicted. “Would you rather take a stroll on a lovely tree-lined path, or in a dark tunnel?”).
