Take a small step
Coming up: my new obsession - fruit and veg which look like the body parts they cure (bear with me on this one). But before that…, the secret to motivation. Take a small step.
"I don't feel like it"
Maybe you don't. But the secret (imho) to motivation is action. Act first, and the motivation will follow. A change of environment, and movement, and just doing it, can change the way you feel. How differently do you feel after exercise to before it?
Take a small step
- Been talking about getting a new job for ages? Take a small step.
- Don't want to go to the gym right now? Take a small step.
- Procrastinating? Take a small step.
Small steps lead to bigger steps. Once you've done one minute on the exercise bike, you're more likely to do two minutes, and even if you stop at one, that's better than nothing. Action comes first, turns into more action and creates the motivation.
It's no use sitting around waiting to feel motivated… just take a small step.
